Papercrafterscorner.com Magzine Monday Challenge #119

This weeks challenge is a fun one due to my loving to read. I have no idea how many books I have read through the years but it is many. One of my favorite authors is Stephen King and I found a quote that is perfect for my card.
Inspiration piece:

My Card:

I used light gray and white striped background paper that was out of my stash. I made a flower with Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and then inked them with Distress inks rusty hinge and fossilized amber ink to reflect the autumn leaf falling and the girls dress. I then stamped them with a Tim Holtz quote "Time is a companion" placing a Tim Holtz brad with author and title. Placing Ideology film strips along the width of card. I used Close to my Heart Library cards to add the quote about Books.
This was a really fun project thank you Stephanie Hackney for this inspiration piece!

Magazine Mondays Papercrafting Challenge #115

So this made me think outside the typical box! It also brought me back to my youth sitting on our stairs leading to the basement coloring. We had this rubber stair protector on the stairs that had corrugated lines in it. I used to love to color and create lines on my project. I found this fun coloring printable on Pinterest by Miss Davis as I have stamps for coffee that I have been wanting to use by Simon Says Stamp "What's brewing?" Well I made one and decided why not make two; each just slightly different from the other.

I used contrasting cardstock and black ink to stamp sentiment but the rest I colored with Staedtler watercolor pencils then water-colored them. I took a black parker to add sewing lines then just glued some little Prima flowers and used gemstones for centers. This was a fun project that was very relaxing for me. I actually colored last night while watching my favorite TV show Bones. Getting to print off some more coloring pages to give me something else to do while watching TV or talking on the phone!

Magazine Monday Challenge #114

Magazine Monday's Challenge on Papercrafterscorner.com #114
I would love to take a trip! Love the colors and pattern of the top border! I also love photography and
and the camera on this cover tells me they plan on taking a lot of pictures to remember their holiday! I made this card for someone who also loves cameras and photography!
The paper I used and the Smile and Its your day stamps are out of Simon Says Stamp card kit I purchased a while back. The black paper has little cameras all over it just perfect for my card. The photo flashcard is Tim Holtz of course how clever are these? I just adore them! I also used Tim Holtz blueprint camera to create this fun birthday card!

Another card I made for fun:

This weeks challenge from Papercrafterscorner.com Magazine Monday #112 Isn't this Ice cream/Food truck so fun? I just love it! I remember when I was a kid as soon as we heard our ice cream trucks music we would be running to our parents asking for money! I always got the orange push up or an ice cream sandwich! Makes me hungry!
I used Authentiques "Sweetness paper" on this scrapbook page as I just love the vintage look and distressed look about it! I used Close to my Hearts Blush and Hollyhock ink and Homestead alpha, June word puzzle, paper flowers and cream paper. I also used Prima flowers botanical garden Robert Stanley ribbons, Tim Holtz staples, Kaisercraft gemstones and 3d foam tape. This picture is of my daughter eating an ice cream bar! She just loved vanilla! I had so much fun creating this page !

Papercrafter's Corner #109

PaperCrafter's Corner contest week 109! Doesn't this cover just speak volumes to the hours spent in the sun with your girlfriends? Well I decided to create a card. I just love the big orange umbrella and the fact that they are playing cards. I used to play cards with my best friend for hours!
I cut my card and matt out of My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus "Birthday Girl" then cut circles out of coffee filters and inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade. I crumpled them up then sprinkled water on them and massaged the ink into the filters. I set each one out to dry while I inked the edges of card and matt with same ink. I then attached decorative natural trim to each end of the mat to mimic the fringe on the edges of the umbrella. Once the filters were dry I attached Tim Holtz Flashcards "Elements" to the larger filter flower and on top of this another Prima Flowers orange flower. The whimsical fresh clean look is refreshing! Don't you think?

Paper Crafters Corner Magazine: Monday Challenge #103

I absolutely love how refreshing this magazine cover is! The cool colors and simple features make me want to eat watermelon and drink a refreshing drink in this hot Arizona heat I live in! So I chose to create a simple scrapbook page that from the viewers perspective can relate to the relaxing Beach scene as they overlook their children or mine as it were.

I used Close to my Heart paper, marker and stamps. White cardstock and My Reflections "Elemental; June Word Puzzle, Paradise, Rustic Flowers, Summertime, & Holiday Red marker. I also used Julie Nutting's Prima doll mixed media stamp. Inks included Tim Holtz Distress Markers Mermaid Lagoon, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen, Abandoned Coral, Shabby Shutters, Squeezed Lemonade & Tea Dye. And Dylusions Pure Sunshine and Postbox Red Liquitex Gesso and Faber Castell Gelatos which was a first for me! Salmon yellow red and orange. I love the shimmery effect it left on the flowers! Of course now I want to run to the beach and soak up some of this summer sun!
