Papercrafter's Corner #109

PaperCrafter's Corner contest week 109! Doesn't this cover just speak volumes to the hours spent in the sun with your girlfriends? Well I decided to create a card. I just love the big orange umbrella and the fact that they are playing cards. I used to play cards with my best friend for hours!
I cut my card and matt out of My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus "Birthday Girl" then cut circles out of coffee filters and inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade. I crumpled them up then sprinkled water on them and massaged the ink into the filters. I set each one out to dry while I inked the edges of card and matt with same ink. I then attached decorative natural trim to each end of the mat to mimic the fringe on the edges of the umbrella. Once the filters were dry I attached Tim Holtz Flashcards "Elements" to the larger filter flower and on top of this another Prima Flowers orange flower. The whimsical fresh clean look is refreshing! Don't you think?

Paper Crafters Corner Magazine: Monday Challenge #103

I absolutely love how refreshing this magazine cover is! The cool colors and simple features make me want to eat watermelon and drink a refreshing drink in this hot Arizona heat I live in! So I chose to create a simple scrapbook page that from the viewers perspective can relate to the relaxing Beach scene as they overlook their children or mine as it were.

I used Close to my Heart paper, marker and stamps. White cardstock and My Reflections "Elemental; June Word Puzzle, Paradise, Rustic Flowers, Summertime, & Holiday Red marker. I also used Julie Nutting's Prima doll mixed media stamp. Inks included Tim Holtz Distress Markers Mermaid Lagoon, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen, Abandoned Coral, Shabby Shutters, Squeezed Lemonade & Tea Dye. And Dylusions Pure Sunshine and Postbox Red Liquitex Gesso and Faber Castell Gelatos which was a first for me! Salmon yellow red and orange. I love the shimmery effect it left on the flowers! Of course now I want to run to the beach and soak up some of this summer sun!

Tim Holtz August Tag but mine is a Scrapbook Page!

Ok so I decided to do an 8.5 x 11 scrapbook page instead of a tag because I really love it and need to go on a Roadtrip! So I followed all of Tim's directions except since my page is larger I chose to place gasoline pump man behind the car to look as though we are pulling up for gas! I also added three mats for photos and or journaling and did glass shatter technique then drying on two squares. I also placed a cute ribbon that matched the colors used but made it a pocket to hold lower part of picture! So fun, now just for the Roadtrip! Vrooooom!

Tim Holtz August Tag Challenge!

This one is for you Tim and Mario because of your love of Disney!

This Disney Tag is really just like the travel tag completed this monthly Tim! Because of course most of us have to travel to get there! And oh what fun it is! I love Disney World the best! What about you? Ok I will show you what I used and how I made it! Firstly the product used to create this Disney extraordinaire:
Along with
Close to my Heart stamp Treasures!Plus I used a digital stamp of Disney girl with balloons from Sassystudiodesigns@yahoo.com, close to my hearts Treasures stamp for making a wish enjoy your journey for small train and railroad tracks, I used Rangers Mask and some of Scrapbook etc. ribbon honey run varnish and Los Angeles.
First I positioned #12 Ranger  Tag at first wrong, so I had upside down and backwards girl holding balloons. I strongly recommend you not do this. So I just turned it over and printed with my inkjet RX1800 (love, love, love) onto tag. Plus I just want you to know my scrapbook room is off limits to my hubby otherwise he might turn me in for a cheaper model.  Tee hee.  Then I colored her in with amy new 49 Distress Markers see what I mean? So I really have to win this to show my hubby it's all worth it! Shhhhh!
Ok here was the tricky part since StazOn ink would have been best on masks but had digital stamp haven't figured that one out yet! Anyway, very carefully cut out the mask of the girl and balloons
separate. I really didn't have to do this because they just fell off anyway when I did the background!
Lol. So I strongly recommend doing background first then positioning on printer the Correct way and  printing. Nope that wouldn't work either unless precut masks then positioned just soooo... Oh forget it just do it the way I did it first. :0) I had so much fun coloring! She is pretty with the denim skirt and ripe persimmons top lol but didn't really use faded denim for skirt used Salty Ocean. No really but it's denim. Am I confusing you yet if so join the club!

Next:

The Background was so fun and I enjoyed using the pewter stain on the dandelion and the texture is smooth! Inkedthe edges with ripe persimmons and vintage photo. Then placed ribbon

Week 17 Papercrafter Corners Monday challenge

Paper Crafter's Corner Week Seventeen Monday challenge

Ok so here is the inspiration for my fun back to school art journal collage!
And let the drum roll........

 It's school time!
Ok so Im slightly bummed you can't tell in this picture how cool the background is! I used Dylusions spray ink in multiple layers and over burlap to get the burlap texture in it.  Then I used Tattered Angels chalkboard seven seas spray ink for top left chalkboard! I cut out cute M&M man from June 2013 Rachel Rays Everyday magazine! I also had previously cut out the clock from I believe a Weight Watchers magazine. The ruler is from K & C company life's journey and the top right hand flowers are from Queen & Company. Then of course the mini ruler Mr M & M man is holding so he has everything he needs for school! By far the most fun was creating the background I love Dyan Reavleys Dylusions  spray inks by Ranger.  So I hope I win this weeks challenge! Wish me luck!
