Twelve Tags of 2013 "April"

Wow where has the year gone! I can't believe it is April already! I am excited though because tat means fun things are coming, like boating, vacation, grilling out and of course buying some new Tim Holtz stamps, stains, and dies!
I had so much fun working on this Tag and I used. Ton of product! Rather than listing each one separate I decided to take a picture of everything I used!

I will do a brief rundown of how I achieved the look I got! I used a #8 black craft tag painted on gesso then sprayed while wet with Rangers Dylusions ink spray then sprayed with water then swiped it through the colors as well then using heat tool dried it as it curled it left a really cool texture. Then using Distress stains I sprayed card with water and swiped them through the different colors and dried with heat tool! I then tore off the Traveled section from the Tim Holtz ideology terminology tissue and using the matte medium I applied to card. The colors saturated through! Then I allowed to dry and went over it and some of the trinkets with brushed pewter rusty hinge and broken china. I took a piece of the butterfly tissue tape and attached to bottom of tag. I then used water color pencils and brush to color in the butterflies in varying colors. I stapled a piece of the film strip ribbon on top of the 3d dragonfly I cut from Graphic 45 paper. And had brushed over with the pewter. I used a Piece of Mica and cut out shape of dragonfly and used alcohol inks then attached trinkets with tiny stapler  and glue. I ran the ribbon through the distress stain and heated. I went around edge with brushed pewter distress stain!

March 2013 Spring Tag

I get a kick out of this Benny's tail I made out of the Tim Holtz ideology trimmings by cutting one of the flowers off! The ribbon at the top is Colored using shabby shutters and scattered straw distress stain crumpling then drying with heat tool. I then ran the #8 craft tag through water soaking top half quickly. Then crumpled it up and using heat tool dried it. Once dry I stamped various Stampers Anonymous Attic Treasures on the tag. I colored each separate butterfly using rusty hinge, peeled paint, worn lipstick and dusty concord. With this stamp I also stamped a separate piece of cardstock to cut and apply for dimension!

Next since I do not have the bunny die cut I drew a bunny shape onto My Minds Eye journey cardstock and carefully cut him out. then I used a paper distresser to make the edges a little jagged to give the appearance of fur. I then used clear rock candy to cover and allowed to dry. Once dry I applied a black gemstone for the eye and the cute little bunny tail as described earlier. I made his Bowie out if a tattered floral by folding one petal over and used platinum stickles and clear rock candy distress stickles to cover.

I the made the Easter eggs using my Close to my Heart Happy Easter egg and using the distress ink pads rusty hinge, peeled paint and Concord grape. Then covered with clear rock candy crackle paint and allowed to dry.
I then cut a piece of green ribbon I had into three pieces to fit bottom of tag to create the grass. I cut them 3/4 of the way down several times to create fringe effect. Then adhered to card.

I placed a tattered flower I made for the challenge that I didn't use and applied it to the lower left corner. I attached the bunny so that he was just under the first layer of ribbon and the eggs I used 3D Sloan sticker o add depth. I then cut the journey out of The My Minds Eye cardstock and adhered a butterfly and attached just above the bunny like a word bubble. And attached remaining two butterflies! The ribbon was tied to the top of the tag and there you have it!

Cards

So I needed to make some thank you cards yesterday and didn't have a lot of time to play with different textures and colors. I started out cutting the dress form from timholtz.com and the spool of thread out of thin chipboard. Then using an elastic wire ribbon I tied five lengths of tulle to it and tied around waist. I then folded a black piece of tulle several times and draped it at bodice securing in back with tape. I then placed extra small gems around neck. I wrapped thin ribbon around the spool and secured with Tim Holtz Trinkets pin. Next I cut a Bingo card from scrapbook paper and a 43/4"x6 3/4"  piece of background words paper. I attached to 5x7 craft card. I then secured each piece with ultimate glue to card!

Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Challenge

I had so much fun creating yesterday! First I must say I made this book of curiosities from a kit I bought through thebuttonfarm.com
Isn't it fun? But I felt it needed something more so when Tim's challenge came up I thought that would be a perfect dimensional element on my book! Well I used multiple different textures and even loved how the metal tape flowers turned out but the one I chose for the book was made from the packing my new dishes came in!  That's right! I used my timholtz.com vagabond machine I got for Christmas, along with distress stains to color. Forgive me but I had to create a blog to post a picture so I didn't take pictures of each stage but lesson learned I won't let that happen again! I hope you had as much fun as I did!
